Hello, I'm Marco Hui, but you can call me Marco Polo! I'm thrilled to share that I've been selected to attend the USA Water Polo National Team Selection Camp. It's the final step towards joining the National team. As part of this incredible opportunity, each athlete is tasked with raising $1425 to support the USA Water Polo Olympic Development Program (ODP). Every donation made is tax-deductible and goes directly towards fostering the future of water polo in the USA. My journey in water polo began when I was 11 years old at Temple City Aquatics Club (https://www.tcaquatics.com/). While some may say it's a late start, my passion for the sport was immediate and unwavering. Thanks to the guidance of Head Coach Davo, I found my place in the pool, starting from 12U Water Polo. Despite facing challenges, including weight gain during the pandemic, the support at Temple City Aquatics Club helped me regain my form and dedication. I owe a huge debt of gratitude to Coach Hyak for being my first mentor in water polo and guiding me through my first tournament, where we achieved 4th place in the Junior Olympic 12U Gold Division. Coach Shaunt then took me under his wing as I transitioned to the 14U level, teaching me the intricacies of the game and offering patience and forgiveness during times of trouble. I want to express a special thanks to Coach Shaunt for his unwavering support and guidance. Also, none of this would have been possible without the support of my teammates, who have been by my side through every practice, game, and victory. Your contribution to the USA Water Polo ODP not only supports my dream but also the dreams of countless aspiring athletes across the USA. Together, we can make a splash in the future of water polo.
