Awesome News!!!
I am very excited to be able to share that I have been selected as one of 70 girls from the ODP development team from all over the country to attend the next phase of the selection process for the USA Water Polo National Age Group Team! A year ago, I knew nothing about water polo but everything changed for me when one night, while at swim practice, I saw Orlando Thunder Water Polo practicing a game that caught my attention. I was so curious that I swam over and asked if I could join the Orlando Thunder water polo team. I was so determined to be part of this team that I signed up to play in my first tournament before my parents even knew. After becoming part of the team, the coaches found my spot as a goalie. As a goalie, I have been able to play for Orlando Thunder and attend USA Water Polo weekend camps, and work on skills. I am grateful that I was also given the opportunity to participate as part of the Southeast Zone Water Polo Development Team in the Super Regional Tournament in Dallas, TX. I am honored to say that I was then selected to attend ODP National Competitions as part of the SEZ development team in Riverside, CA. . Being part of The Orlando Thunder team has helped me learn how to be a good teammate and be responsible for my effort and dedication. Today’s news of the selection also comes with extra responsibilities which include fundraising so that I can attend the National Team Selection Camp in California for continued growth and development and the possibility of being selected to the Junior National Team. I know that this opportunity is only given to a few people and would love to be able to attend this camp, therefore, I need some help. Please consider helping me with my fundraising responsibility so that I can continue to be part of the Olympic Developmental Program.
Thank you for your consideration. Gaby
