Due to the devastating effects of Hurricane Helene, we regret to inform you that the Virginia Breast Cancer Foundation’s Pink 13.1 event, scheduled for Saturday, October 19 in Abingdon, Virginia, has been canceled. The safety of our participants, volunteers, and community is our highest priority as we all focus on recovery.
However, we are excited to announce that you can still participate in The Pink 13.1 virtually! We encourage you to complete your 13.1 miles on your own or with friends and family at a time and place that works best for you.
Share your virtual participation by posting photos and updates on social media, please tag #Pink13 and @
Though the in-person event won’t happen this year, the funds you’ve helped raise will continue to support diagnostic services for those in need in our community, especially during this challenging time.
Thank you for your understanding, support, and commitment to the fight against breast cancer. We can’t wait to see your posts!
Stay safe, and we look forward to seeing your virtual Pink 13.1 stories.
Bike, Run or Walk 13.1 Miles to End Breast Cancer
A breast cancer diagnosis -- whether it’s your own or someone you love -- can leave you feeling helpless. Imagine if there was a way to fight back-- to do something that can make an impact. There is. It’s called the PINK 13.1 Walk/Run/Bike. It’s a 1 day, 13.1 mile walk, run, or bike making a real difference in the fight against breast cancer for Virginians.
VBCF invites you to join the movement and take a stand against breast cancer by fundraising and joining us in Abingdon (or virtually) October 19, 2024. Your support allows VBCF to provide Virginians knowledge and a voice in the fight against breast cancer. The money we raise through the Pink 13.1 is used to provide funding for screening and diagnostic breast health services for uninsured and underinsured in SWVA, individualized resource coordination, free breast health educational materials; newly diagnosed, caregiver, and survivorship packets and advocacy for improved health public policy and research dollars for the state. 100% of funds raised remain in Virginia to help Virginians.
Each participant must raise a minimum of $300 to participate. Participants will receive support every step of the way including a training plan, a personal fundraising page and a facebook group to connect with other participants.
You must register by October 1, 2024 to guarantee your event swag item.
