Local Speaker - Priti Shah, MD
Originally from Baltimore, Dr. Priti Shah completed medical school and residency at the University of Maryland. She came to Richmond in 2008 for fellowship training at VCU Health and has been here since. She is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Radiology and has served as the Medical Director of Breast Imaging since 2018.
Along with seeing patients, she teaches and mentors trainees, has lectured both in the community and at state and national educational conferences, and co-authored a textbook to guide primary care physicians on managing breast diseases. She volunteers as a peer reviewer of imaging quality for the American College of Radiology and is on the Medical Advisory Board of the Virginia Department of Health’s Every Woman’s Life Program. Her passion is community and patient education, which has led to an interest in advocacy and her involvement with the Virginia Breast Cancer Foundation.
Dr. Shah was voted First Place for Radiology in Our Health Richmond Magazine’s Best Bedside Manner Award in 2018 and one of Virginia’s Top Docs in Diagnostic Radiology by Virginia Business Magazine in 2024.
Her most challenging, but favorite, role is that of mom to twin girls, a blessing she shares with her husband in Midlothian, where they color, play cards, board games, and dolls, do arts and crafts, and enjoy vacations at VA and NC beaches.
