Why I Walk

Hello, I am a Preeclamsia suvivor I was diagnosed with preeclampsia at 36.6 weeks. I as a hispanic didn't know what the word was I had never heared of the word before in my life or what Preeclampsia ment.  With Preeclampsi a lot of health risks came into play  like having hemmorage during delivery and I was about to die after giving birth since I had hemorage and blood pressur drop out of a sudden. I didnt get to bond with my baby girl till after 12 hours later. Therfore, in top of having blood pressure because of preeclampsia y developed postpartum depression. In conclusion, no women in the Rio Grande Valley should suffer like I did. I am one of many women out there who survived this traumatic event. 

Hola, soy una sobreviviente de preeclampsia. Me diagnosticaron preeclampsia a las 36.6 semanas. Yo, como hispana, no sabía que era la palabra. Nunca antes había oído hablar de ella en mi vida o qué significaba la preeclampsia.  Con Preeclampsia entraron en juego muchos riesgos para mi salud, como tener una hemorragia durante el parto y estuve a punto de morir después de dar a luz porque tuve una hemorragia y una caída repentina de la presión arterial. No pude establecer un vínculo con mi bebé hasta 12 horas después. Por lo tanto, además de tener presión arterial a causa de la preeclampsia, desarrolle depresión posparto. En conclusión, ninguna mujer en el Valle del Río Grande debería sufrir como yo. Soy una de las muchas mujeres que sobrevivieron a este evento traumático.
