I am a Preeclampsia Baby! While my mother was pregnant with me it caused her blood pressure to be elevated and caused me to have growth restriction in her. Although I was supposed to be a May baby, I came in April. I made it to be a full-term baby, I was healthy, and did not have to experience a Nicu stay which demonstrated to m that every case is not the same.
Preeclampsia can be in the genetics as well. I've heard of generations of Preeclampsia where the mother had Preeclampsia while pregnant with the daughter and when the daughter became pregnant she had it and so on, but I was one of the ones who did not have Preeclampsia during my pregnancies even though my mother had it with me. Although that was my story, I know it could've went a completely different way and I know that everyone doesn't have a happy ending like mine.
With that being said, I walk for those who had an experience like mine and those who had more severe experiences. We are all in this together and will continue to walk for the cure.
