Just over two years ago my mom was diagnosed with breast cancer. This diagnosis changed my family and I's lives forever. Watching as my own mom had to go through chemo and radiation was the hardest yet most memorable part of my life. I will always remeber this as i saw her strength and compassion shine through even as she was physically struggling. This strength and compassion led her to be cancer free now, but we will always remember this difficult time for my family as we all realized how much we depend on eachother. i think these fundraisers are important for those who need a reminder that they have a community to support them as they fight their own battle.
