Hello Family and Friends,

Please join Team Super Sean to support a great cause and organization and to create awareness for childhood cancer.  BIG Love Cancer Care provides nine different programs to children and their families facing childhood cancer.  They provide customized care baskets upon diagnosis and healthy meals.  They have a Lift Program (Love in Fragile Times), which provides help to families in the form of rent and bill assistance, travel, gas support, furniture needs, grocery support, and more.  They offer a Love Strong Program to support families when a child is in critical condition or receiving end of life care.  With this program families receive an initial basket, hospice basket, and after loss basket, which are filled with comfort items.  Families are also provided with a Wish List where they can request grocery and comfort items as often as needed.  They also offer a gift card binder full of food delivery and grocery cards for families with urgent needs.  Counseling support is also offered during and after treatment.  In addition, Comfort Carts are provided to families whose child is inpatient with a terminal illness.  The carts are filled with comfort items such as snacks, sheets, a coffee marker, coffee maker, CD player, aromatherapy oils, and other useful items.  There is a Forever Love Program, which provides financial report to help single parents and low-income families with funeral expenses.  

BIG Love Cancer Care also provides programs after treatment.  They offer a monthly support group for siblings of children with cancer to help them connect with peers, develop healthy coping skills, and reduce the risk of emotional distress, which is called Sib Strong.  They grant scholarships each Spring to cancer patients, their siblings, and parents wanting to pursue higher education.  In addition, there are Peer Led Support Groups for parents and other primary caregivers to connect for support and socialization.  The YA YA Moms is a group for bereaved moms.  Teletherapy and counseling are also offered.  They provide financial support and resources to families.  Hospital staff are also shown appreciation through gifts and meals.  

BIG Love Cancer Care is an amazing organization with a BIG heart.  When my son, Sean, was going through treatment at Texas Children's Hospital, BIG Love brought smiles to Sean's face, which in turn brough a smile to my face.  Please join Team Super Sean and help BIG Love bring smiles to children and their families.  You can walk with us in person, run virtually, or donate to Team Super Sean.
