Every year, thousands of underserved students and their families in San Antonio go without the supplies needed to have a successful school year. To help those in need, Communities in Schools (CIS) needs your help during their Stuff the Bus School Supply Drive!
The school supply drive will begin Monday, June 17 and will end on Friday, July 19. You can donate physical supplies or monetarily to support students. Take a look below for additional information.
If you prefer to donate supplies, you may drop off donations at the following:

Each beverage station and the Coin at One Frost

By the third-floor employee entrance at the Downtown Frost Tower
Here is a list of supplies needed:
• Binders (2-3 inch) • Markers
• Highlighters • Backpacks (clear or mesh preferred)
• Composition Books • Pencil pouches & plastic school boxes
• Folders • Map Pencils
• Pens & pencils • Erasers
• Notebook paper • Facial tissues
• Dividers (5 & 8 subjects) • Pencil sharpeners
• Scissors • Index cards
How far can your donation go?
- $20 fills a pencil pouch with supplies
- $50 packs a backpack
- $100 provides enough supplies for siblings
- $300 places technology into students’ hands
- $1,000 provides school supplies for the whole classroom
- $3,000 provide school supplies for a school campus
- $5,000 stuffs a school bus with supplies
The funds raised through this event will be given to 160 schools across 12 school districts, ranging from elementary to high school, so they can purchase supplies for students in need. Not only does the Stuff the Bus School Supply Drive help alleviate the stress of back-to-school expenses, but it allows students to focus on their education with the tools they need to be successful.
