2024 Team Resilience

Rachelle Weston

Run for hope and awareness!

In 2005, my older brother of 14 months decided to end his own life. He battled with mental health issues for years, and eventually chose the only way he thought would make it better. My hope is to raise awareness around adolescent depression and overall mental health by running the Chicago Marathon in honor of him and all those that may ever be in his position. Instead of being afraid to have the conversation, I want to start it. Just like adults, kids have big feelings and many influences that affect them internally. Even one conversation started is better than none. Our children deserve better. They deserve to have a voice. Please join me in supporting this amazing cause!

Erika's Lighthouse is determined to make sure no young person feels alone in their depression. We are dedicated to creating a community of empathy and education. We create middle school and high school teen depression awareness programs so educators and teens can create safe spaces to learn about depression, letting students know they are never alone, and there is somewhere to turn.
