I started as a mentor for Minds Matter in 2008. Over the past 16 years, I've seen all of my students attend and graduate college. Some of them are now engineers, doctors, business owners, and leaders. All of them are stars to me. College shouldn't be a barrier - it should be a beginning. But far too many low-income students lack the support, resources, and opportunities to make college a reality. Minds Matter fills this gap - and we want to do it for more students! The challenges low-income, first generation students face are growing and often create fear in students about their future. From the new FAFSA difficulties to the Affirmative Action decision, the hurdles keep coming. Our goal is to double the number of students we serve by 2028 and deepen the services we provide. It is an ambitious goal and one we can only reach with your help. You can make opportunity accessible and actionable for more students. My personal goal is to raise $1600 by Jan 11th, 2025.
