I walk in memory of my beautiful sister Denise, who lost her cancer battle at the age of 51 in 2009. Glioblastoma took our sweet, active, beyond awesome sister, wife, mom and friend in 6 short months. It is beyond amazing what UC Brain Tumor Center has been able to do since 2009 to today in 2024. The money you donate will help save someone else's love one or give them way more time then just 6 more months. 

I also want to take this opportunity not just to walk in honor of my sister Denise Vermeersch but also my partner and love of my life Dan Rogus. He lost his life at 50 years old. He was in the best health of his life, but one morning woke up while on a business trip and felt like an elephant was on his chest. By 12 pm that day, he was gone. It was not a heart attack, it was cardiac tamponade. It was unexpected and close to the Walk Ahead in 2022. I walked in 2202 but was still in such shock. Dan and I were together for 6.5 years. We were a family with our 5 kids. Last year we raised $650 for Denise's Dance in honor of Dan. 

Please help me honor both my hero's and mentor's. Denise was my big sister. We were 13 years apart. She raised me along with my other big sister. I am so blessed to be their little sister. Dan was my true partner in all things in life. From the second I started talking to him, he filled my life with laughter, blessings, true teamwork and love. Please help me crush my goal of raising $650 for every year Dan and I had together.
