I’m thrilled to be participating in Colin Farrell Foundation 2024 Winter Ball, a fundraiser supporting Colin Farrell Foundation. Our family knows first-hand how little support there is for adults with significant intellectual disabilities.
Many of you know, our daughter Kiera has Angelman Syndrome. We try to keep complaints and worries about our personal situation off of public pages, but I want to share some of our struggles -- not for sympathy -- but in order to bring attention to the lack of services for this largely unseen group in order to encourage my friends and family to support the Colin Farrell Foundation.
At age 23, Kiera is out of school and we have struggled finding an adult day programs will accept her along with her behaviors and high level of need. Because of this, our family and many others like ours, our isolated. Normal activities such as shopping, dining and enjoying life are challenging.
Thank you for your support!
