As a mother to my adult son, Scotty Sell (22), and alongside my dear friend Shannon Purcell, a fellow Angelman syndrome mom to her son Kyle, I live each day with a heart full of love—and a constant, quiet fear of the world they face. The challenges Scotty and Kyle encounter, and will continue to encounter, weigh heavily on us, especially in a society that doesn’t always provide the support they need. Our greatest wish is to ensure they have the safety, support, and opportunities they deserve, even when we’re no longer here to protect them.
That’s why the Colin Farrell Foundation’s work means so much to Shannon, me, and our families. This foundation fights to bring real, transformative change for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD), advocating for critical services that are often inaccessible or broken. Their mission touches on the very things our sons—and so many others like them—need most: safe housing, day programs, skilled and compassionate support providers, and access to quality medical care.
With over 750,000 individuals living with I/DD waiting for essential services, the need is urgent. Together, we can help change this. Every donation brings us closer to a world where people like Scotty and Kyle can live enriched lives, surrounded by a community that sees and values them. Please consider supporting the Colin Farrell Foundation with a donation. Every dollar counts, and every bit of support brings hope and security to families like ours.
Thank you for helping us build a future where our loved ones can thrive—today, tomorrow, and always.
