I began working for The Arc in September, and in this short time, I have witnessed firsthand the profound impact our programs have on the lives of our participants and their families. The services we provide are more than just support—they create a sense of belonging and community for individuals with disabilities while offering essential relief for full-time caregivers.

In today’s challenging landscape, nonprofits like The Arc face significant uncertainties, particularly those serving vulnerable populations. Many of our services—respite care for caregivers, skills training for individuals, and job search assistance and coaching—are funded through Title XIX waivers, which rely heavily on federal funding.

If funding for these services is reduced or eliminated, private donations will become more critical than ever before.
