Please state the reason(s) you are supporting Project GRAD Akron and raising funds for the scholarship fund.  I am supporting Project GRAD Akron because education was my way out of poverty and my pathway to success as an adult.

Name of your favorite teacher and what made the person special to you:  My favorite teacher was my typing teacher at Firestone High School in my junior year.  When she found out that I had signed myself out of classes for my senior year because I needed to work to pay for groceries for my family so we would have food, she stepped in and signed me up for a vocational program.  Through that program I was placed in female-owned real estate offices and then later law offices, where I was introduced to the business world and the practice of law at 17 years of age.

What were some of your most enjoyable times in school?  (pre-school through college): My most enjoyable time in school was when I attended Norton schools from second grade until partway through my sophomore year.  I have maintained those childhood friendships.  It is also where I met my current husband in the 6th grade.
