In a few sentences, describe your connection to U2FP, why you chose to run in support of U2FP, and whether you have a personal connection to spinal cord injury and paralysis:
Just last year my Uncle Frank had an accident that left him with a spinal cord injury and almost full paralysis from the neck down, so the mission of U2FP is very close to my heart. Funding research and advocacy for those with spinal cord injuries and paralysis gives those impacted hope and a chance at a better recovery. Joining Team U2FP was a no brainer and I am so proud to support this cause!
Is this your first marathon/race? If not, what others have you completed?
This will be my second full marathon! I ran the 2024 Philadelphia Marathon as well as the 2023 Philadelphia Half Marathon and 2025 Asbury Park Half Marathon.
What do you crave after a long run?
I’m always thirsty so anything to drink - water, coffee, smoothies, coconut water, protein shakes, you name it.
Do you listen to anything when you train or race? If yes, what?
I love running in silence. I try to run the more scenic routes wherever I am so I can enjoy the sounds and sights around me, like running along the water at sunrise.
What are you most excited and/or nervous about for the marathon?
I am most excited to run such a well known race. I’ve never been to Chicago so I will be using the race for some sightseeing as well. I can’t wait to experience the energy that everyone brings (runners and supporters), I know the feeling around the city will be so high all weekend.
What do you enjoy doing in your free time?
I love going to different coffee shops with my partner, Halle! We also have a labradoodle (Teddie) who is obsessed with getting outside and loves the beach/swimming so we try to bring her lots of places with us.
Anything else you’d like to share?
Thank you all so much for reading and supporting this cause!
