In a few sentences, describe your connection to U2FP, why you chose to run in support of U2FP, and whether you have a personal connection to spinal cord injury and paralysis:
Last year I joined my friend Callum in his running challenge to raise funds for U2FP. We spent the afternoon with fellow U2FP supporter Erik running and wheeling around Boston, followed by donuts and beer. I got to learn all about Erik’s homemade wheelchairs (@wheelchairboarding), upcoming races, and active life. I want to support U2FP’s efforts in helping those with paralysis continue to live an active life and ultimately find a cure.
Is this your first marathon/race? If not, what others have you completed?
I ran the Knoxville Marathon in 2015, the Santa Cruz Surfers Path Marathon in 2016, and the Boston Marathon in 2024. And I run a half marathon every year!
What do you crave after a long run?
Chocolate milk, electrolytes, and a fat breakfast burrito.
Do you listen to anything when you train or race? If yes, what?
Music, all the time. “Gloria” by Laura Branigan is our family running anthem.
What are you most excited and/or nervous about for the marathon?
I am very nervous about getting injured during training (again). But excited for long runs and race day!
What do you enjoy doing in your free time?
Running! I also play a lot of soccer, read, travel, and go on adventures in the Boston area.
