Hey Friends and Family, 

I'm running the 2025 Bank of America Chicago Marathon for the charity Team One Step and asking you to support this cause! 

This will be my 10th marathon but the first time running for a charity.  Team One Step granted me a charity registration so I'm raising money for their cause to help kids with cancer.

But this race carries an even deeper significance. I’m running for a dear friend, a lifelong running buddy and more of a brother I’ve known for over 50 years.

Recently, he was diagnosed with terminal brain cancer. For many years, we dreamed of running a marathon side by side, but due to injuries or missed race entries, the opportunity never came. Though we never got our chance to cross that finish line together, this is my way of keeping that dream alive.

So this year, in Chicago, I’m running for BOTH of us. With every mile, I’ll be thinking of him, carrying his strength and spirit with me, and crossing the finish line of the marathon as we always planned, with hopes that he will be there to celebrate with me!

And so, for Team One Step, and for my friend, every donation—big or small—helps me reach my fundraising goal so I can run the race.
