The Chesapeake Bay Watershed is the largest estuary in North America, supporting 18 million people and over 3,600 plants and animals. Yet these valuable lands are under constant threat, losing an average of 54 acres of forest each day and additional lands to development and water level rise. These are special places where families make memories, wildlife thrives and where history runs deep.

Chesapeake Conservancy is dedicated to preserving these special places for generations to come so that all may enjoy and biodiversity can flourish. They are using ground breaking data to identify valuable lands to protect and enact sound conservation policy in addition to restoring impaired streams.
