Roman has some sensory processing challenges and is attached to me, so I worried about how he’d handle everything. But I also knew exactly where he needed to be and that was at St. Joseph’s Children’s Hospital. Not just because I work here, but because I’ve seen firsthand how this place changes lives. The moment Roman met our child life specialist, Hannah, everything shifted. She connected with Roman in a way that I honestly didn’t think was possible. She made him feel safe, seen, and understood. The Child Life Program is more than just support; it’s a lifeline for families like mine. They turn fear into comfort, chaos into calm. And they do it with their whole heart.
