This year I am raising funds for the needy animals in honor of my dogs Jessie, Milo, and Luna, along with our newest addition to the family, kitty-cat Oliver, who we adopted from CVHS back in July 2024.

All of my pets, except for one, were adopted from a shelter and are the reason I decided to go into the animal welfare field. Working in a shelter is incredibly rewarding but it's also a lot of work. Meaningful work. I get to see first-hand just how much of an impact we have on the pets that come into our care. Some arrive scared and confused, some are in terrible pain and are in need of serious medical care, and others simply need a safe shelter as they go through a new transition in their life. Regardless of what brought them to CVHS, they all have the same wish, to find a loving home where they will be a beloved family member. 

As the Development Manager, I have the pleasure of working directly with our supporters. I get to hear the connections of why people choose to donate to our shelter and I get to share the amazing stories of how they directly helped a vulnerable animal. How they relieved a cat's terrible pain by helping to cover the cost of tooth extractions, how they helped build up a dog's confidence by aiding our training efforts, how their keeping bellies full and energy levels up by providing nutritious meals… the list goes on and on.

I hope you will join me, along with the many other caring individuals I work with, in helping to raise money for needy shelter animals. No matter the donation size, every dollar makes a real impact at CVHS!
