On November 9, 2019 I was recovering from surgery after my first cancer diagnosis. Even as an adult, I just wanted my mom, but sadly, I lost her in 2016. The humane society has a memorial fence where you can purchase "In Memory" tags, which I had done for both her and my first little love, TC. So, I went to the Humane Society to be close to them. We had such fond memories, like when TC and Brady won first place in the Halloween Costume Contest.
While there, I heard someone say puppies. OMG! There are puppies???? I have to go see! I sat on the floor in a pile of puppies! A large litter that was rescued from down South. Some all white and some looked like German Shepards. ALL soooo cute. How does one choose? So many precious faces and licks of love?! Luckily, I didn't have to, because Nubble chose me.
Nubble is named after the Nubble Lighthouse in Maine- my moms favorite spot. Little did I know, how much I needed her. Nubble was there for me through my second and eventually my third cancer diagnosis. Her ears caught my tears, her kisses took away my pain and she always gives me a paw to hold. Nubble was, and continues to be, one of the only things that keeps me going and I never would have had her, if not for the CVHS.
That is why I joined the Walk for Animals and hope you will help support them, so they can continue to provide support for animals in need. CVHS doesn't just save animals... they save people too.
