It's no secret how much I love Disney! It's not just about rides or food, it's the feeling of letting everything go. Any worries, any heaviness and just being in the magic is something my family loves.  BUT to say it's an honor to be able to run AT Disney for Team Fired Up while celebrating my 50th birthday and for such a special cause is an understatement. This organization stands for something I whole heartedly believe.

Thankfully my family has not been touched personally by childhood cancer. However, I have seen firsthand how resources and research for child illnesses are not pooled together and it wastes extremely precious time when diagnosing and treating. I have spent many many sleepless nights going from site to site and organization to organization and specialty hospital to specialty hospital trying to understand my daughters special needs and symptoms due to stroke. I can only imagine how terrifying it is when your child has cancer. Having a world where all researchers share their data together so the most pertinent and up to date information is available to doctors and trials is vital to combatting this horrible disease. 

So I am running to raise money to continue this important work for the parents and the children and the families that desperately need and should have the best information available to their doctors.

The whole concept behind Princess Marathon Weekend is to empower women and girls to rise up. To have courage and be kind. This is something that is ingrained within my soul and I work with women in my business every day to empower them to rise up. To have courage and be unshakeable. To lift other women up with them.

So I'm not just running for this wonderful organization, I'm also running for every women that has ever been held back or felt silenced and wants to step into her courage. The woman who wants to be confident, feel her true power and make an impact in this world. And being able to do this run to celebrate my 50th birthday and show my daugther that a girl can do anything she sets her mind to, is something I'm just over the moon about.
