My dad was diagnosed with lung cancer when I was 17 years old. It was the type of news that changes a family forever. Dad bravely fought with strength and hope. At the time, research was sparse and treatments were arduous and expensive, but we did everything we could to help him beat it. We lost him 3 long years later when the cancer spread. Our world turned upside down. Five years later, my big brother was diagnosed with a brain tumor and passed away soon after. We run in their honor, we run for families facing this horrific disease, we run for those who can't.
