Greetings! I’d like to share with you the importance of this cause and how it relates to me. In the past several years I’ve experienced life changing and cumulative trauma that has affected how I navigate the world around me. After lots of research and consideration I decided to train my dog, Bella Serra, to be my service dog. Unfortunately, she passed away last year and I was faced with grieving her and deciding to find a new service companion. Let’s just say that it’s been, and still is, a journey of ups and downs. I’m currently on Canine Companions’ waiting list, not to mention the additional time required to train a candidate to fit my specific needs. So, while I’m waiting for my candidate, I want to actively engage and help others by fundraising. I'm participating in DogFest Bay Area 2025 because I love dogs and know the joy they bring to our lives each and every day. I also believe in Canine Companions and their mission to provide expertly trained service dogs to adults, children and veterans with disabilities FREE of charge.
Leading up to DogFest Bay Area 2025, I am raising money to support the Canine Companions mission. The impact these dogs have on the lives of people with disabilities is incredible.
