My Why

I learned about Canine Companions while in Long Island, New York, for surgery. A therapy dog that was born and raised from Canine COmpanions would come to the Ronald McDonald house and when I turned eighteen his handlers reccomended I look at getting a Service Dog from this amazing organization. Two years later I received my Service Dog Hope, a yellow lab-golden retriver cross. I have had her for three years now and she has improved my life! I have been able to start nursing school with her and become the first nursing student at my college with a Service Dog. It comes with its challenges, but we as a team have set a precedent. The dogs from Canine Companions are exceptional, and I can't count the number of times people have commented on how well-behaved and obedient Hope is.

I am not the only one this organization has helped, and I know that any donations will help give many others the independence Hope has given me!
