Mia is 17 years old and happens to have Dravet Syndrome!
It has taken Mia, many years of countless seizures (many were status that lasted more than 10 minutes), ambulance rides to the ER, overnight hospital stays, tests....... and so much more to get where she is today.
As she's gotten older and we've been blessed with a treatment that not only helped her seizures get better control-we saw her "light turn on" and her SMILE and GIGGLES came in full force!
Mia doesn't have perfect seizure control and still has side effects from her medications. But, she is a SHINING LIGHT in this world like all of our Dravet Warriors. And she is doing so much better than her younger years!
The Dravet Syndrome Foundation not only provides vital support to our families, they fund A LOT of RESEARCH! And that is continuing to help us find treatments for this hard to control seizure disorder.
We want all Dravet Warriors to SMILE and SHINE and live thier best lives.
