This September I've committed to a health challenge to support Friendship Bridge and their Health for Life program and am asking for your support. For the thousands of Guatemalan women Friendship Bridge serves each year, preventive healthcare is rarely available. Through the Health for Life program, Friendship Bridge provides women's health education and services, designed specifically to counter the healthcare challenges that rural, indigenous women face in Guatemala. Services are free of charge and include:

• In-home and mobile medical clinics in villages where Friendship Bridge clients live

• Clinics staffed exclusively by highly-trained female medical personnel

• Medical staff who are fluent in the indigenous languages spoken by Friendship Bridge clients

To help Friendship Bridge expand this important work and with one more knee replacements behind me in April of this year, I am challenging myself to get back on my feet on land and on the water! In addition to paddling twice a week with the outrigger canoe club I joined during my 2023 Health for Life Challenge, I have recently been able to get back on a paddleboard and start biking again. I plan to intensify those efforts during the month of September and counteract aging as much as possible.
