Two Families' Stories of HOPE
THE LOWE FAMILY
Nineteen years ago, Donna and Marty Lowe's son, Mason, was born eight weeks prematurely with fluid in his lungs. Mason critically needed time in the NICU to heal and learn to breathe on his own, so the couple began searching for a place to stay near the hospital. After a nurse overheard the two discussing their difficulty finding an available hotel room, she suggested the Ronald McDonald House. "We had a place to stay across the street from our son, which was priceless,” Donna continues, “Staying at the Ronald McDonald House saved us both financially and emotionally. Knowing we were just steps away from Mason allowed us to be close when we couldn’t physically be with him. Being nearby was invaluable and kept us grounded during those long days and nights.”
THE BROWN FAMILY
Last year when Audrea was diagnosed with preeclampsia, it led to the early birth of her son, Adler, at just 32 weeks. As she and her husband, Ethan, faced the uncertainty of a NICU stay and the physical toll of preeclampsia, RMHC became a lifeline for Audrea and Ethan. For 25 days, it offered more than just a place to stay—it provided a comforting, supportive environment close to Adler’s NICU room and HOPE. With meals taken care of and a place to rest, they could focus fully on their son’s progress, without the added burden of finding accommodations or worrying about everyday needs.
As RMHC celebrates our 35th Anniversary. we reflect on the countless families who have found comfort, strength, support and HOPE through RMHC. Our 28 bedroom House is more than just a place to stay; it’s a sanctuary where families facing medical crises can rest, recharge, and be close to their children during life’s most difficult moments - 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
Your generosity will continue to make a profound difference, offering families the support and HOPE they need to face whatever challenges lie ahead.
Together, we can provide a place of HOPE, comfort, and healing for those. like the Lowe and the Brown Families, who need it most for many more years to come.
