Hi friends and family! My name is Tessa, and I’m 10 years old. I was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes in January of 2023. I just passed the 2 year mark. This year I have the amazing opportunity to return to Camp Seale Harris, a special camp just for kids like me!  Last year was life changing and I never want to miss a year as long as I can go.

Diabetes camp is a place where I can have fun, make new friends, and learn how to manage my diabetes in a safe and supportive environment. It means so much to me to be around other kids who understand what it’s like to check blood sugars, count carbs, and take insulin every day.  It provides much needed respite for both me and my family.

I am participating in the Camp Seale Harris Diabetes Walk to raise money for the camp and help other kids like me attend, too! My goal is to raise $1000 and every dollar brings me closer to making this dream a reality—not just for me, but for other kids. Last year we raised enough I was able to attend AND we were able to help scholarship another child to go as well.  I also came in 2nd place for individual fundraising, all thanks to you!
