VIRTUAL PARTICIPATION

How does the virtual MK5K work?

On race day, virtual participants complete the 5K (3.1 miles) on their own time and in their own way—walk, run, treadmill, or bike. You’ll receive your t-shirt and can fundraise alongside other participants from anywhere.

Do I need to track my time?

Nope! The virtual MK5K is about participation, not competition. You’re welcome to track your time using any fitness app, but it’s not required.

How will I get my shirt?

We’ll mail your MK5K t-shirt and other materials to the address you provided during registration. Shipping timelines vary, so we recommend registering early.

Do all team members have to run/walk together?

No, that is the great part about a virtual race! Each team member can run/walk at their own pace on their own time.

FUNDRAISING

How do I fundraise for the MK5K?

When you register, you’ll automatically receive a personal fundraising page through our partner platform, Qgiv. You can customize your page, share your story, and invite others to donate.

Do I have to fundraise to participate?

Fundraising is encouraged but not required. Your registration supports our mission, and every additional dollar raised helps fund critical cancer research and domestic violence shelters.

How can I access my fundraising page?

Once registered, you’ll receive a confirmation email with a link to your page.

Are donations made in support of participants tax-deductible?

Yes, all donations to the Mary Kay Ash Foundation® are tax-deductible. Donors receive an email receipt detailing their donation that can be used for tax purposes.

How can I see who has donated to me/my team?

Login to your Fundraising Center using the username and password that you received when you registered for the event. You can then view your donor list and the amounts that have been donated as well as send email thank you notes to your supporters.

Some of my donors are not showing up on the scroll mechanism. Why?

When each supporter contributes, they have the option whether they want to appear in the recognition scroll and how they want their name to appear.

How do I enter offline donations (checks or cash)?

Log into your Qgiv page, select “Enter an Offline Donation,” and follow the instructions. Mail checks to:

Mary Kay Ash Foundation
ATTN: 2025 MK5K
P.O. Box 799044
Dallas, Texas 75379-9044

NOTE: Please include a message on the Memo line of the check indicating which individual or team the check should be applied to.

What is the deadline for fundraising?

Donations will be accepted through October 31. However, only donations received by 11:59pm CT on October 4 will be counted towards the fundraising contest.
