Why I Walk

Because of the invaluable work of the Preeclampsia Foundation, my care providers can help me with preventative measures to take in future pregnancies to try to avoid another preeclampsia emergency. Because of the Preeclampsia Foundation, I have made connections with other families who have walked similar paths, which has made me feel less alone. Because of the Preeclampsia Foundation, I know the risks I face for heart disease and other cardiovascular problems throughout the rest of my life, all because of my preeclampsia diagnosis. But there is work to be done. There is no cure for preeclampsia. 
 

I walk so that other families one day do not have to face a challenging diagnosis and the lasting implications.
