Why I Walk

Again this year Courtney and I are raising money for the Preeclampsia Foundation in memory of our daughter Roe, who passed away on June 17th 2023. She fought so hard for 4 days but due to preeclampsia her little 1 lb 1 oz body just couldn't fight any more.

For those who would be interested in supporting Roe in person, the walk will be held this year in Steven's Point, Wi on Sunday June 8th at 10:30 AM at Pfiffner Park. 

A little bit about preeclampsia: it is a life-threatening disorder during pregnancy and postpartum that affects both the mother and the unborn baby. All pregnancies are at risk, as preeclampsia affects 1 in 12 women who are pregnant: 300,000 pregancies each year in the United States alone. Worldwide, by conservative estimates, nearly 76,000 mothers and half a million babies die each year because of preeclampsia.
