Why I Walk

We walk in memory of our son, Theo Gray Anderson.

I (Melissa) was diagnosed with Preeclampsia with severe features at 22 weeks pregnant and HELLP Syndrome at 24 weeks pregnant. Theo was born via emergency c-section on September 11, 2024 after my platelets tanked. At 15 ounces, Theo was small but mighty! He was perfect in every way.

Theo lived in the NICU for 1.5 days before he passed away from complications of severe prematurity. Theo's Dad (Jonathan) and I are completely devastated to live a life that does not include raising our son. Despite our insurmountable grief, we speak Theo's name every day and are proud to tell you about our beautiful baby boy.

We walk for Preeclampsia research & awareness with the hope that someday, babies and parents will not fall victim to these health crises and devastating outcomes like we did.
