I am joining forces with The Irth App for this walk because it’s a digital review app that amplifies Black and Brown voices within the medical spaces. The Irth App is building a community online that is dedicated to bringing healing through sharing stories and informational support so that everyone knows they have rights when they move into these hospital spaces.
Why I Walk
I am walking to remind families of the resources that exist to have doula care & culturally competent obstetrical care during their birthing experience. As a doula I have seen firsthand how informed decision making can affect Black families to take control of their care and navigate the complexities of preeclampsia with confidence.
