Why I Walk

In 2019 during my first pregnancy I developed preeclampsia. I had no idea what preeclampsia was and how dangerous it could be to mom & baby. My sweet girl was delivered by a traumtaic c-section after a failed induction. Then in 2021 my dr scheduled a c-section once I developed gestational hypertension & I thought we were in the clear but I developed postpartum preeclampsia which caused me to have to go to the ER and leave my 5 day old baby.  Recently one of my friend's lost her sweet baby boy because she developed life-threatening preeclampsia and she is the reason that this walk is happening. So most importantly I walk for her and sweet Lincoln.  I also walk so that we raise money to educate health care providers and women who are pregnant on the symptoms and dangers of pregnancy. It is something I wish I knew about as soon as I had my first Dr visit back in 2018. It should be normal for Drs to let us know checking our blood pressure through out the pregnancy at home can be lifesaving.
