Hi friends,
I'm opening up my heart to ask you all for support reaching my goal of $100 for the Preeclampsia Foundation's 2025 Promise Walk. All donations are used for educating, supporting and engaging the community, improving healthcare practices, and finding a cure for Preeclampsia.
This cause hits home and is extremely important to me as a mom who experienced this complication at 23 weeks in my pregnancy journey. It was scary and robbed me of a lot of the experiences I was hoping to have when bringing my son into the world. My experience with this issue sparked my passion, interest, and ambition in becoming a Doula. Once I'm certified, I hope to become a beacon for moms during pregnancy and childbirth, especially when things get hard.
Some facts about Preeclampsia:
- The only "cure" is delivery of the baby and placenta. This leads to many babies of mom's with Preeclampsia being born early and with failed inductions.
-60% of maternal deaths due to Preeclampsia are preventable through early diagnosis and treatment.
-Moms are still at risk for Preeclampsia up to 6 weeks after delivery.
- Preeclampsia is under-recognized, under-researched, and under-funded in relation to its prevalence as a leading cause of maternal and infant mortality.
I hope you can join me in raising money for Preeclampsia research and thank you so much for your time!
