From survival to celebration—every step tells our story.

I tell my story to create awareness and hope. I have survived postpartum preeclampsia and preeclampsia.

In January of 2023, 10 days after delivering my 3rd, I was feeling off and thankfully, listened to my body. I checked my BP twice at home when I was suspicious it might be high…it was steadily climbing to dangerous levels. I spoke with my OB and they send me right back to labor and delivery to be readmitted. When I got here my BP was 198/103. I’m grateful I came when I did. Between the blood pressure readings and elevated liver enzymes, it was clear that I had postpartum preeclampsia. Medications and seizure precautions were started right away. My blood pressures are finally stabilized after a few days in the hospital.

In March of 2025 I was 2 weeks away from my due date with my 4th. I awoke feeling panicky and a sense of doom and dread. I knew my body was telling me something and I immediately checked my BP. It was climbing and this pattern was too familiar. My OB is a saint and listened to me. I went in for a BP check and landed in the OR for an emergency c-section a few hours later. I was feeling chest pain, panick and shortness of breath on the OR table. My BP soared to 177/101 as my sweet baby was being taken to the  NICU. It continued to climb after she was delivered and I was placed on a magnesium drip once again. I couldn't hold my sweet baby for over 24 hours. But I am grateful we are both here and well.

Please, mommas, keep listening to your body...even after your baby is here.  Know the signs and risks for postpartum as well as pregnancy and be vigilant. We walk for awareness, hope, love and our 2 miracle babies.
