In 2023, my friend Alexis and I were pregnant at the same time. Tragically, she developed preeclampsia and had to deliver her beautiful baby boy, Lincoln Reed, at just 25 weeks. Though Lincoln was with us for only 29 days, his impact continues to be deeply felt. His legacy lives on through Alexis, who has turned her grief into powerful advocacy for mothers affected by preeclampsia. I walk in honor of Lincoln — my daughter’s best friend she never got to meet — for his incredibly strong mama who carries his memory forward, and for every woman and family who has been touched by this condition.
