I'm walking for preeclampsia awareness because I'm a survivor of this life-threatening condition. In October 2020, during the height of covid when hospital visitations were limited, I gave birth to my son after being diagnosed with preeclampsia. I had protein in my urine, severe pain in my stomach and side, and underwent an induction of labor that lasted three days. Following delivery, I stayed in the hospital for an additional two days with limited contact from my loved ones due to covid restrictions. With the support and care frok my husband and parents, I made a full recovery and my baby was healthy. I'm happy to say that my miracle baby is starting kindergarten in a few weeks here! Sharing my story is a way to raise awareness about preeclampsia, its risks, and the strength of survivors like me. I'm walking to support research, education, and support for those affected by preeclampsia, honoring my journey and my son Juju.
