On November 6, 2019, I was 21 weeks pregnant and went in for a routine prenatal visit. My blood pressure was high, and after a few hours and a recheck I was quickly admitted to the hospital. Thanks to the wonderful care of my care team and quick action by my providers, I came home with my health intact but without our very wanted child.
I've since gone on to have two pregnancies without BP issues with two term births! My children are wonderful and I'm so happy that a low dose of aspirin and great care helped keep both me and them healthy. I walk because I want to ensure that everyone, regardless of socioeconomic status, has a positive outcome, and so that someday we can find a cure for preeclampsia that is not "delivery."
