What an amazing day!
Together we raised over $19,300, and still counting, that will go directly to Dementia Alliance of NC (DANC). We came together as a community to laugh, play and support families in NC struggling with many types of dementia. We could not be more grateful that so many donated, played, volunteered, shopped the auction items or just stopped by to say hello. Thank you all for joining as a community to make a real difference for our neighbors.
Friday, June 20th was a beautiful and very successful day, both in honoring the true meaning behind our event and in raising funds for DANC. Our underlying goal was to provide a venue for those that have had or currently have loved ones struggling with Alzheimer's or other forms of dementia to honor/remember and be able to talk with others. To have the opportunity to do this while playing a sport we all love, whether tennis or pickleball, with old and new friends was icing on the cake.
A special thank you to Pam Gilbert for coordinating and leading such a successful pickleball day as well as to Michel Haddad for his role in so many aspects of the very successful tennis portion of our event as well as the overall event itself! You two were the backbone of how awesome our June 20th event was! An added thank you to Francie Barragan for running her much-anticipated clinics on June 10th in advance of our overall event.
To those below who volunteered, we can't thank you enough for your time and efforts. You helped us run our event as smoothly as possible.
