This past February, our son Nathan went in for what we thought would be a simple, routine surgery to remove his tonsils and adenoids for sleep apnea. Other than that, he had always been a healthy, energetic little boy. But shortly after coming home, Nathan woke up hemorrhaging, and our lives were suddenly turned upside down.

After several hospital stays and many tests, we learned that Nathan has bleeding disorders. Since then, he’s had to make big changes…including which sports and activities he can safely do  and it has been a journey of adjustment and faith for all of us but Nathan has faced it with so much courage and strength. 

Through it all, we’ve seen God’s hand at work. We truly believe that God has a purpose for Nathan’s story, and that He is using it to strengthen not only our family, but others walking a similar path.

This fundraiser means so much to us because we understand the fear, uncertainty, and challenges that come with bleeding disorders. Our hope is to help raise awareness and support for other families — and to remind them that even in the hardest moments, God is faithful, and we are never alone.
