Why I am Participating: Central Virginia Sole Stars with the Virginia Breast Cancer Foundation (VBCF) to support the fight against breast cancer by raising awareness and funds. I am also participating to contribute to VBCF's education, advocacy, and access to care programs, such as the Central Virginia Screening & Diagnostic Service Fund program. This program assists uninsured and underinsured Virginians with breast health screenings and diagnostic testing.
The Sole Stars campaign engages leaders in our communities as representatives in the fight against breast cancer. During the month-long campaign, each SOLE STAR will raise or give a minimum of $1,000, which will be used to support the work of the Virginia Breast Cancer Foundation (VBCF.) The money raised through the Richmond Sole Stars campaign will help pay for breast health services like diagnostic mammograms, MRIs, ultrasounds and biopsies for uninsured and underinsursed women in the greater Richmond region.
