Why I am Participating: I decided to start my Sole Star campaign in honor of my great-grandmother Pearline Harris (rest heavenly) and now my mother Sherri Branch, who have both had encounters with breast cancer. Having to witness firsthand what women are going through with this battle encourages me to do my part in participating/supporting these women/men in any way I can!
This month-long campaign, I would like to engage all of my friends and family to support the fight against breast cancer!! My goal is to raise at least $1,000 which will be used to support the work of the Virginia Breast Cancer Foundation (VBCF.) 100% of funds raised remain in Virginia to help Virginians and to fund our local breast cancer initiatives.
The Sole Stars campaign engages leaders in our communities as representatives in the fight against breast cancer. During the month-long campaign, each SOLE STAR will raise or give a minimum of $1,000, which will be used to support the work of the Virginia Breast Cancer Foundation (VBCF.) The money raised through the Richmond Sole Stars campaign will help pay for breast health services like diagnostic mammograms, MRIs, ultrasounds and biopsies for uninsured and underinsursed women in the greater Richmond region.
