MASQUERADE BALL VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES

Volunteering at the STAR Masquerade Ball is a wonderful opportunity to make a meaningful impact in the fight against sexual violence. AUCTION ITEM PROCUREMENT

Procurement team members solicit donations for the Live and Silent Auctions.

Timeframe: January - April 2025

EVENT DAY SETUP

Move silent auction items from storage to ballroom, and assist with logistics & décor. This will take place on Saturday morning of event starting at 9:00 a.m.

COAT CHECK

Coat check volunteers will be provided with coat check numbers. Coats, bags, purses etc. are to be set up in number order for easy retrieval. The coat check area should be guarded at all times to ensure the security of our guests’ belongings. If these volunteers are a group from a non-profit organization, they may be permitted to have a tip jar present for donations to benefit their non-profit. Timeframe: 5:00 - 10:00 p.m. on event day.

GREETERS

Welcome guests and guide them to their tables.

Volunteer Training will be at 4:00 p.m. and volunteers for this service will be needed from 5:00 - 8:00 p.m.

REGISTRATION/CHECK-IN

Assist with guest check-in, registration, and with access to our mobile bidding app, Givi.

Timeframe: Volunteer Training will be at 4:00 p.m. and volunteers for this service will be needed from 5:00 - 8:00 p.m.

SILENT AUCTION

Volunteers ensure the tables stay neat and organized as well as answer questions that guests might have about items or how to bid on them. When the silent auction closes, all items will be delivered to the item pick-up area.

Volunteer Training will be at 4:00 p.m. and volunteers for this service will be needed from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m.

GAMES OF CHANCE

Sell chances for the Heads or Tails Game or Wall of Wine Raffle. Make sure winners complete the IRSw9 form before they leave the event. Timeframe: Volunteer Training will be at 4:00 p.m. and volunteers for this service will be needed from 7:00 - 10:00 p.m.5:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m.

LIVE AUCTION SPOTTERS

Best for the most outgoing, friendly, high-energy volunteers, this team helps the Auctioneer see and hear bids, and encourage their assigned tables to outbid one another. Timeframe: Spotter Training will be at 4:00 p.m. and volunteers for this service will be needed from 6:30 - 9:30 p.m.

CHECK OUT/ITEM PICKUP

Often the same group as registration volunteers, these individuals assist with guests who are ready to pay for and pick up their auction items. Timeframe: Volunteer Training will be at 4:00 p.m. and volunteers for this service will be needed from 8:00 - 10:00 p.m.

TAKE DOWN/LOAD OUT

The takedown team helps clear out the ballroom and places all leftover auction items, office supplies, décor, etc. in a locked room in an organized way for delivery back to the STAR Office. Timeframe: 9:00 p.m. - 11:30 p.m.
