In a few sentences, describe your connection to U2FP, why you chose to run in support of U2FP, and whether you have a personal connection to spinal cord injury and paralysis:
U2FP’s mission really resonates with me because of my experience with both my dad’s SCI and my research on SCI. I have fundraised for U2FP by running the TC 10-Mile in 2023 and 2024, but this year holds a different meaning. Over the last year, U2FP has outstandingly raised awareness of proposed federal and state research funding cuts that impact SCI. They have been instrumental in advocating for patient-centered research methods and telling our legislators about all the super impactful work being done with current funding.
Is this your first marathon/race? If not, what others have you completed?
This will be my 3rd year running the TC 10-Mile for U2FP!
What do you crave after a long run?
A banana
Do you listen to anything when you train or race? If yes, what?
80s rock always makes me run faster
What are you most excited and/or nervous about for the marathon?
Beating my times from the last two years
What do you enjoy doing in your free time?
Biking, hiking, knitting, reading, and going on moderately epic adventures
