In a few sentences, describe your connection to U2FP, why you chose to run in support of U2FP, and whether you have a personal connection to spinal cord injury and paralysis:
I survived a cervical spinal cord injury in 2019. On the road to recovery I met Matthew and his son Gabriel Roderick who also has a SCI. Through Mathew and the Cure Cast podcast, I quickly became aware of the work U2FP was doing. Work that advocates for people like me and finding the cure for paralysis.
Is this your first marathon/race? If not, what others have you completed? Yeah, first marathon.
What do you crave after a long run? Ice cold cheap beer, Hamm's or black label.
Do you listen to anything when you train or race? If yes, what?
Yes I do! When I'm active I tend to listen to instrumental music and let my mind wander. Lately it's been glass beams, moss of aura, and motor!k.
What are you most excited and/or nervous about for the marathon?
Stoked to complete my first marathon and doing it alongside other adaptive athletes! Only thing I'm nervous about is finding a place to wee if I have to.
What do you enjoy doing in your free time?
Hiking, cycling and tooling in the garage on the equipment. Spending time with my growing family of animals.
