Are You Walk Ready?
Schedule:
9:00 a.m. - Check-In
- Please park in the main parking lot next to the baseball fields.
- Pre-registered individuals can check-in and receive their t-shirt at the multi-purpose field directly across from the parking lots
- Still need to register? Day-of registration will be available for $25 for adults, kids 17 and under are free! (Online registration closes Thursday, August 23 at 12:00 p.m.)
- Visit all the sponsor tables present and fill out your Event Day Passport to receive a prize! Place your completed passport in the bin on stage to be entered to win a prize. The winner will be announced during the program, which starts at 10:00 a.m.
If you have Hero Signs from previous walks, please feel free to bring them! Our volunteers can place them along the route. Signs must be brought by 9:30 a.m.
10:00 a.m. - Program
- Make your way to the stage area on the multi-purpose field before the program starts at 10:00 am.
- Make sure to stop at the wristband table to grab a Parkinson Hero wristband for a special piece of the program.
10:30 a.m. - Walk Begins
- A map of the walk route will be posted when it becomes available.
- Remember, there is no expectation to walk the route! Feel free to stay behind, visit vendor tables and connect with others.
- The walk is on an outdoor paved path, but it can get buggy - we suggest wearing bug spray, sunscreen, and wearing hats. There are a few Civic Center provided restrooms along the route. Take your time - the walk is not a race nor it is timed.
1:00 p.m. - Event Concludes
Teams that raise over $5,000 will earn a VIP tent and some complimentary, light snacks provided by MPF. Tents will be located on the field and are approximately 10 feet x 10 feet in size. Several folding chairs will also be placed under the tent for your guests. As we near the Walk date, we will update this section with the names of team that have raised $5,000 or more. In 2024, 2 teams earned a VIP tent.
Inclement Weather:
In the case of severe weather, we will update the Walk homepage and Facebook on or before the morning of the event in case of cancellation. The Walk is a rain or shine event and will only be delayed/cancelled for severe weather.
